Something isn't working, and you can feel it.

Maybe your horse is telling you something you can't quite translate. Maybe you've been riding for years and suddenly progress has stalled. Maybe you've tried a few things and nothing has stuck.

That gap between where you are and where you want to be isn't a talent problem. It's usually a clarity problem. And that's exactly what this work is designed to solve.

EquiClarity offers training, lessons, and structured programs for riders and horse owners who are ready to do the real work that starts with honest observation, builds with consistent support, and results in a horse and human who genuinely understand each other.

Helen works with clients at her home base in North Carolina and travels to clients nationally. If you're not sure where to start, the right place is a conversation.

Not sure which level is right for you? That's what the first conversation is for. Helen will give you an honest recommendation based on what she observes .

How Helen Works:

This isn't a one-size-fits-all program.

Every client starts with an honest look at where they and their horse actually are, not where they want to be, not where they think they should be.

From there, Helen builds a structure around what the horse and rider pair genuinely needs.

That might mean groundwork before anyone gets in the saddle. It might mean a conversation about horse or human anatomy before a training plan.

It almost always means slowing down before speeding up.

What it always includes: a clear plan, consistent communication, and a training approach that puts the horse's wellbeing at the center of every decision.

Finding the right level of support

Not every horse and rider needs the same frequency of contact. Some partnerships need a steady rhythm of sessions to stay on track. Others are ready to work more independently with periodic guidance. Helen uses a simple framework to match the level of support to what you and your horse actually need right now.

Support & Maintenance — 8 sessions per month You and your horse are in a steady place. You have solid fundamentals and you ride well between lessons. This level of support keeps you progressing without over-managing the work.

Skill Building & Consistency — 12 sessions per month You're in an active development phase — a new partnership, a horse going through a transition, a rider working to change a pattern. Consistency matters more than intensity right now, and regular eyes-on support keeps things moving in the right direction.

Training & Repatterning — 16 sessions per month Something needs to change more deeply — in the horse's understanding, in the rider's habits, or in how the two of them are communicating. This level of support creates the repetition and clarity needed for real repatterning to happen.

Full Training — professional rides included Some horses need a professional in the saddle before the rider gets back on. Young horses, horses returning from time off, horses with established patterns that need resetting — this program protects the horse and gives the rider clearer, more accurate information to work from.

The 60-Day Roadmap

Structure that travels with you between sessions

Every training client receives a 60-Day Roadmap. This is a personalized, written plan that gives both horse and rider a clear foundation for the work ahead. It's built around your horse's specific needs, your goals, and the honest gaps Helen identifies in the initial evaluation.

The roadmap includes:

  • A structured 8-week foundation plan divided into two-week phases

  • Weekly session intentions and a log for you to track what you're noticing

  • Checkpoint reflections at day 30 and day 60 so progress is measurable, not just felt

  • Helen's coaching notes for each phase, delivered in writing

Students report that the roadmap changes how they show up between sessions because they have something to work toward, a way to capture what they're observing, and a structure that holds them accountable even when Helen isn't in the ring.

What to expect

What working with Helen looks like

The first session is always an evaluation. Before any training plan is built, Helen wants to see your horse move, observe the dynamic between you, and ask the questions that don't always get asked. You'll leave with an honest picture of where things are and a clear recommendation for next steps.

You'll be asked to pay attention differently. Helen will teach you to observe your horse the way a researcher observes data with curiosity rather than judgment. What you notice between sessions matters as much as what happens during them.

The horse always has a voice in the plan. If something isn't working, that's information. Helen builds training plans that are designed to flex around what the horse is reporting, not override it.

You'll have a record of your progress. Between the roadmap, the session logs, and the checkpoint reflections, you'll have documentation of where you started, what changed, and what you've built. That record belongs to you.
